The new Celine with no accent and no Phoebe Philo was the much-anticipated show at Paris Fashion Week. It is now Hedi Slimane’s Celine. The only pre-glimpses to his collection were seen on the arm of Lady Gaga, who was sporting the 16 bag at the Venice Film Festival and then prior to the show, Korean pop star, CL posted a very stylish pic of herself with Slimane’s quilted box bag with the letter C on the clasp.
Changing guard is often hard. Phoebe earned a devoted following with her feminine, sophisticated designs that made women feel strong and confident. Hedi Slimane has a different aesthetic and not much different from his Saint Laurent days. The new Celine appears to be very rock’ n’ roll worn by thin models ready for a night out but this isn’t terribly new to the fashion scene. I am in the Phoebe camp 100% but in all fairness these are tough shoes to fill when you are nostalgic for the past because it was so damn good. At the moment I am not a fan of the new Celine. isostilo will remain open-minded for the future of Celine. With that said, the one piece from this collection that is eye-catching are the black tapered trousers with the geometric shaped oversized pockets.
