Evolve With Woolrich

Evolve with Woolrich.  A company with American roots is making a strong return.  Meet a refreshing alternative and perhaps the happy medium between Canada Goose and Moncler.  Both are very loved among city dwellers.  Walk down the street and count them to see how common they have become.  Hey I admit I’m in that camp.  You can’t deny the quality of both brands.  But I think it is a good time to consider other options if you are contemplating a new outerwear piece.

Woolrich, you have my attention with your stylish ways.  Woolrich is dialing into an urban style with a cool, hip, and creative way.  Just take a peek at their Fall/ Winter campaign called American Soul.  This collaboration with Ms. Lauryn Hill has completely sold out.  They have balanced their new creative shift in a direction without losing sight of their heritage.  The iconic pattern, Buffalo Check remains strong.  If you haven’t checked out their website recently you are missing out.  Also their collaboration with Jeff Griffin from Loveland Farm is legit. Woolrich is defiantly worth exploring.  Their prices do seem to reflect their new competitiveness.

Joseph Modern Coat
Soft and delicate from Joseph. Perfect over a dress.

Classic styles are worth the investment and the time hunting for them. Winter outerwear, I believe is where you can invest and get your return back year after year. It should be that one favorite coat that you don’t walk your dog in but instead, the one you slip into for special occasions, dinners out, festive gatherings, or a night on the town.  It is nice to have one piece that wraps you up like a present and makes going out on those cold nights feel more ladylike than Michelin Man.

Winter outerwear really does stand the test of time particularly when you go off trend.  Hot color and style trends of the season are around for a hot second and, in my opinion, not worth the high investment.  Classic styles are far from boring.  A well-tailored classic doesn’t require bells and whistles.  It requires a well delivered silhouette that fits you.  Subtle design and attention to detail goes the distance.  You will never regret investing in your forever coat in a rich navy, a classic black, a warm gray, or a creamy camel.

Perhaps thinking about shopping less and putting those funds toward purchases you really love and that stand the test of time is a better way to shop.  Luckily, classic outerwear pieces are becoming more reasonable.  Here are few to inspire you from Net-A-Porter.  Check out your favorite place to shop for similar styles.  Keep an eye out for special holiday sales or better yet if you can hold off until after the holidays you may score big.

Rains

isostilo is wishing for one of these today.  Rains is making rainy days more enjoyable with their new capsule collection of glossy sorbet colored rain coats.  We have been seeing more transparent looks on the streets so Rains is on point with their glossed up look.  You may hope for rainy days just to be able to wear one these chic cheerful jackets.  Even their classic collection comes in a ray of styles and colors.  For the longest time there have been few options when it comes to rainwear.  This is no longer the case.  Leave it to the Danes to deliver stylish jackets that are aesthetically pleasing, modern, fashionable, and functional.

A rain jacket is one outerwear piece that everyone needs to have in their arsenal.  This capsule collection could warrant having two just for the fun it.  Personally, I love my Rains jacket from their classic collection.  It has served me well.  My dear friend, on the other hand, has unfortunately not experienced dry days with her Rains.  I truly believe it is a one-off!  Being headquartered in Denmark this company has plenty of experience with rainy days.  Here is to singing in your Rains!
