Nike’s Sustainability & Innovation With Their Launch Of The Space Hippie

Get ready for Nike’s Space Hippie futuristic sneaker. A vegan sneaker from top to sole made completely from recycled scraps off their factory floors. The sneakers are made from plastic water bottles, yarn scraps, and t-shirts. Nike’s mission towards a more sustainable practice comes from focusing on innovation, design, and the concept of how would you repair your sneaker in space.

Bravo to Nike for delivering their lowest carbon footprint scores of any shoe they have created thus far. You will have a choice of four silhouettes. So something for everybody! I am eyeing the 04. hyper minimal silhouette. You can sign up at Nike to be notified when your new spring sneaker will drop!

Putting On A Face

I’m most comfortable with a fresh, clean, makeup free face. Lippy and mascara are the only two make up products that are in my wheelhouse. Beyond that, seems like too many steps for me. But sometimes it is nice to go all out. This above look was not done by me but rather by a talented make up artist at Barneys. Here is a little secret for you! You can get your make up done for free with the expectation that you buy some product. I walked away with a glowing face, mascara, lipstick, and blush. Always fun to shake things up!

Beacon Hill Garden Tour

Hitting the streets with my gal pal to explore the hidden gems of Beacon Hill. Going bright with a crisp full leg cord trouser paired with a playful navy sweater from Comme des Garcons (a year round piece). Nike Air Max sneakers because who doesn’t wear sneakers these days but also perfect for marching the streets and climbing stairs to view the lovely gardens.  Also CPW is looking pretty good.  I love to be hands free so my Bottega Veneta is really in the mix these days.  Casual afternoon attire with no fuss to enjoy a happy spring day with a friend!

Part 2: With a small window of time to freshen up my look before heading out for an evening with some sweet mamas from my son’s school.  I swapped out the sweater but kept the navy look because I was digging the blue and white combo.  A quick change into a short sleeve solid navy t-shirt and an oversized navy blazer with white dots from Maison Kitsune.  Added a pink lippy for a pop of color to my face.

Marni Marni Marni! A forever piece that will be on repeat.

Mama’s new Marni bag from Mother’s Day.  This clutch was made for me!  When your boys know your style you just get giddy with excitement especially when it is totally unexpected with NO HINTS!  Ready for the night with the just the essentials.  xo

FYI I am a big believer in wearing pieces over and over again.  I love occasionally adding a new piece into the mix.  Life is busy enough and getting dressed should be fun, easy, and no stress!

Stepping Into Spring OOTD

City living and keeping the look fresh and light is the goal.  Who doesn’t love the sweet spot before the summer temps strike?!  Yesterday’s look was all about being able to properly chill in the park.  Spring and all its glory is giving everyone a reason to dress with pops of color.  Darker tones can have a much deserved timeout.

Mountain Weekends

It can be such a mixed bag of winter weather when one heads to New England’s ski mountains.  The range of weather is unpredictable.  We travel to Vermont pretty much every weekend in the winter.  The boys are skiers.  I am at best a fair weather skier.  I do love the idea of skiing but the cold scares me as well as tumbling down the trail with my butt and skis in the air.  It is also important to mention that I am painfully slow!  So I try to spare my family’s embarrassment and opt for snowshoeing or a trail hike.  But when I do surprise my family when I put on the skis, it is always so nice to take a few runs with my boys!  Later this week we head to Montana so I have put together a winter post as I pack just the essentials.

I require warm gear to embrace the elements.  I love warm layers.  I have great luck with both Nike (PRO HYPERWARM line) and Under Armour (Cold Gear Armour line) for base layers.  My KJUS jacket is one of my best investment pieces.  It is from their Freelite collection.  It is knitted, warm, and super comfortable to wear.  This Swiss company simply makes great products that are designed for function.  Mittens, I love my tried and true Hestra and beloved by many outdoor enthusiasts but my Astis are a nice alternative.  A new find that I am enjoying are some playful bandanas that are double lined.  I also find them handy for the post hat head.  I found them in Big Sky and unfortunately they have no label so I can’t share the source.  The idea is planted so you could make them yourselves if you are crafty!  Perhaps isostilo may surprise you down the road.  I have included some snow/hiking boots.  La Sportiva boots are the best that I have found.  I wear them snowshoeing and they keep my feet dry, warm, and have molded perfectly to my feet.  I pair them with some Smartwool socks and off I go!

I am always happily hunting for warm pieces.  Here are a few pieces that are similar to what I own and a few extra pieces that I wouldn’t mind adding to my winter wardrobe. It’s all about getting out to play with just the right pieces.

Pop of color:  If you want some fun retro bottoms then check out these little fancy bottoms from Shinesty. Only to be worn in warmer temps.  I whipped them out recently when the temps were in the 30’s.  They have a similar feel to yoga pants.  Hello!

Goal: More skiing! Fingers crossed that there are plenty of sunny days, no ice, no wind, low crowds and plenty of fresh powder that drops each night (my skiing requirements, not much to ask for:)
