And the people stayed home. And read books, and listened, and rested, and exercised, and made art, and played games, and learned new ways of being, and were still. And listened more deeply. Some meditated, some prayed, some danced. Some met their shadows. And the people began to think differently.

And the people healed. And, in the absence of people living in ignorant, dangerous, mindless, and heartless ways, the earth began to heal.

And when the danger passed, and the people joined together again, they grieved their losses, and made new choices, and dreamed new images, and created new ways to live and heal the earth fully, as they had been healed.

Greta Thunberg, You Are A Leader, An Inspiration, Thank you!

Who I am following and I am in awe of her!

Greta Thunberg, a sixteen year old Swedish climate activist with a mission to bring awareness globally. She is nothing short of inspiring. A young girl that will pull at your heart strings and make you want to do better. Her impact is global and is inspiring our youth. I love the way she speaks and how she has the ability to be blunt and respectful in the same breath. So composed and confident. Greta is determined, empowered, and showing the world that you can not sit back and just talk about it. We need action! Like Greta says, “All we have to do is wake up and change.”

She believes the one small step everyone can do now is to read and educate themselves to understand the emergency of the climate and ecological crisis. The reports are fact based not opinion.

Greta has started a movement called Fridays For Future.

Wash in cold water and hang dry for longevity. Dressing like a ninja mama in all black seems to work for me. Get moving in what makes you feel good. These pieces work for me.

Simona Halep, the Romanian tennis star made history for herself and her country at Wimbledon today! She played in the zone. An absolute powerhouse. A performance that dominated the game with her grit, stamina, strength, speed, aggressiveness, and determination. The true definition of athleticism. A body that all young athletes can look up to and be inspired by. She trained hard and respected her body and mind. Simona’s journey is inspirational. Her speech was so sweet. Never stop moving is my favorite saying!

It is the little things that can get you excited. Thank you for print! On December 6th, Vogue Paris will be hitting the shelves with their special Christmas issue featuring the Birkin clan. Three women that don’t need an introduction: Jane Birkin with her daughters Charlotte Gainsbourgh and Lou Doillon. They all are admired for many things but most definitely for perfecting the effortless style of denim, a white t shirt, and a Birkin bag. A casual and unpretentious style. Monies is a Danish company making sculptural statement jewelry founded by goldsmiths Gerda and Nikolai Monies. All pieces are handcrafted from natural materials in their Copenhagen workshop. Think elegant yet playful. I discovered these beautiful gems over the summer but now layering up with oversized accessories seems perfect to match with those cozy knitted sweaters. Bihor Couture’s Story

Something good to share! Beau Monde, a fashion magazine is partnering with a small town in the Beius Country of Romania to keep their craft alive by creating the brand Bihor Couture.

Fashion designers find their inspiration by traveling around the world and immersing themselves into different cultures and traditions to draw inspiration for their next line. Unfortunately they don’t always give those communities credit. But through the awareness and support of Beau Monde the story is changing. The local creators of Bihor can now sell their 100% authentic Romania design pieces online. Their handcrafted pieces are bold, bright, unique, and steep in tradition. The Beius Authentic Jacket is artwork, the scarf is fantastic, and the blouse is simply perfect. Pieces are for pre-order only due to the length of time that goes into each handcrafted and hand embroidered piece. Quality takes time. There is no mass manufacturing here in Bihor.

The video is eye-opening, beautiful, inspiring, and true! I want to visit these ladies. I want to befriend them. They are talented and don’t hold back any punches! I want to learn their craft. This story makes my heart sing and it deepens my love for authentic fashion. Connecting faces to stories is how messages can be conveyed. Tammy Kanat

Jewelry maker turned tapestry artist is weaving the most stunning works of art. Her pieces are bright, bold, and one of a kind. Each piece is more beautiful than the next which seems impossible when you experience your first piece of Tammy Kanat’s work. I discovered Tammy Kanat, like many other fab finds, on Instagram. I instantly fell in love with this Australian fibre artist’s work. She is the creator of all things lovely. I absolutely would love to hang a piece of Tammy’s tapestry but till then I will keep admiring from Insta. Tammy Kanat . I also appreciate her laid back vibe in the 1st image.

Hedi Slimane’s Celine

The new Celine with no accent and no Phoebe Philo was the much-anticipated show at Paris Fashion Week. It is now Hedi Slimane’s Celine. The only pre-glimpses to his collection were seen on the arm of Lady Gaga, who was sporting the 16 bag at the Venice Film Festival and then prior to the show, Korean pop star, CL posted a very stylish pic of herself with Slimane’s quilted box bag with the letter C on the clasp.

Changing guard is often hard. Phoebe earned a devoted following with her feminine, sophisticated designs that made women feel strong and confident. Hedi Slimane has a different aesthetic and not much different from his Saint Laurent days. The new Celine appears to be very rock’ n’ roll worn by thin models ready for a night out but this isn’t terribly new to the fashion scene. I am in the Phoebe camp 100% but in all fairness these are tough shoes to fill when you are nostalgic for the past because it was so damn good. At the moment I am not a fan of the new Celine. isostilo will remain open-minded for the future of Celine. With that said, the one piece from this collection that is eye-catching are the black tapered trousers with the geometric shaped oversized pockets.

Back To The 90’s

Bucket hats are back. I’m not sure if isostilo can pull this off but certainly many fashionistas are rocking them at the moment. If I were to pick one then these are my players for you and me. Since it is raining today the green hunter Acne would be most appreciated.
