Shades of Green For Your Home

Living With Green
Algerian Ivy , Creeping Charlie, and Jade

Give me some green!  You don’t need a green thumb to enjoy the natural beauty of greens in your home.  Creating that outdoor vibe inside your home is so lovely especially on those gloomy days.  It is a said that plants bring happiness and life into your home.  I believe this to be true.  Who doesn’t smile seeing a living wall or canopy of greenery when you walk into a space?!  Begin with low-maintenance plants that require just a bit of weekly attention.  For inspiration and motivation check out The Sill.  I’m a fan!

Jewelry maker turned tapestry artist is weaving the most stunning works of art. Her pieces are bright, bold, and one of a kind.  Each piece is more beautiful than the next which seems impossible when you experience your first piece of Tammy Kanat’s work.  I discovered Tammy Kanat, like many other fab finds, on Instagram.   I instantly fell in love with this Australian fibre artist’s work.  She is the creator of all things lovely.  I absolutely would love to hang a piece of Tammy’s tapestry but till then I will keep admiring from Insta.  Tammy Kanat . I also appreciate her laid back vibe in the 1st image.

Wolff Pottery

For the past 15 years, I have visited the beautiful rolling hills of Litchfield County to spend time with my in-laws.  Each visit a new discovery is found and something new is put on the list to do the next time.  Guy Wolff’s rustic barn studio, located in the town of Bantam, CT, stands out along the country road with a lovely welcoming flag inviting passing visitors.  Guy Wolff Pottery has been hand making pottery in this studio since 1971.  The barn is filled with white and red clay traditional pottery.  There are also one of a kind works as well.  All made by Guy Wolff with his signature stampings.  The studio that is keeping  alive 18th and 19th century pottery traditions for the gardens is a true gem to be experienced.  You will meet Guy in person as he greets every customer who walks through the door.

Go Bold With Timeless Pieces From Marimekko

Anything that hints of spring is welcomed with open arms.  The Finnish textile company, Marimekko is known and respected for their bold colorful prints.  There is nothing shy about their brand.  Marimekko has a long history of offering unconventional designs for your wardrobe and home.  You can’t help but appreciate their knack for offering season after season a timeless and unique aesthetic.  Spring is the perfect time to embrace change and perhaps reach outside your style comfort zone.  This season is about patterns, prints, and colors.  I spent some time in both the Cambridge and Boston Marimekko stores .  The stores are full of bright and lively pieces for your wardrobe and your home.  Time to be bold!

These black and white patterns create an interesting story on these simple plates. The small two-tone plate with a pop of pink compliments the playfulness of all these prints. Easy additions to your spring and summer tables.  A common circle design connecting them all together.
Marimekko
Patterns and colors to inspire a few changes this season. The pink, red, and yellow flower power says spring!  I’m also thinking a wrap skirt would also be fun in this fabric!!  The cars and animals are perfect for a child’s space.

Marimekko has so many pieces to freshen up your space.  You may feel inspired to recover a few cushions or pillows with some bold and playful fabrics or maybe it’s a sweet tray for your drinks.  A small bud vase with fresh flowers makes for a perfect host gift!

Marimekko
You always seem to need a small catch-all purse.
