Light Bites and Sips For Summer Nights

Le-Grand-Aioli-Classic French Dish

Summer Cocktail

The Fixings For A Cocktail

Always searching for entertaining dishes that can be made ahead for those hot summer nights.  Pick up your fresh produce from your local farm stand to serve up the rainbow.  Being able to have friends over with little effort is the goal but in all honesty nothing goes without effort and some prep.  Here is a fab classic French platter that I will be giving a go to share with friends.  Bring this lovely platter to any summer gathering for something to noche on. Try Goop’s Green Goddess dressing for a healthy alternative to the aioli.    I also stumbled across a bright and light cocktail that can be sipped all summer long. Hydrating with watermelon sounds pretty perfect to me.  I am also sharing a lovely list of 30 Rose`s to enjoy from Food & Wine.  Time to trade in the red for all those lovely shades of pink.  Cheers to summer!

Garrett Borns
Rocking a Gucci suit with the contrasting classic web stripes (Give me the jacket!)

Loving every song and every beat.  It is electric, groovy, sexy, and dreamy.  Borns newest album, Blue Madonna is all about love and romance.  It is so 60s and 70s baby!  The Gucci suit says it all!  The Michigan native, Garrett Borns is touring and selling out.  I will be seeing him at the House of Blues in Boston on February 11th (Valentine’s Day gift is coming early:).  I’m hooked and reading up on this hot 20 something year old that is having his much deserved moment in the spot light.  Check out this article from Nylon.

BTW when Garrett Borns moved to LA, he moved into a tree house which became his permanent home.  Need I say more?!  Fascinating!

Monday Inspiration

Wishing for dreamy viewing than check out my new latest Netflix love, Chef’s Table.  So far it has been an amazing and inspiring series about six of the world’s greatest chefs.  I have traveled to Italy, the North West corner of Massachusetts, Patagonia, Los Angeles, New Zealand, and Sweden.  The cinematography is beautiful, the authenticity of the chefs is heart grabbing, and the food is revolutionary.  I’m in love with Massimo Buttura and his electric personality!

Chef Massimo!

Need more inspiration than check out My Next Guest Needs No Introduction With David Letterman, a once a month interview with David Letterman and a global leader that is sure to inspire.  First interview is with President Barack Obama.  Enough said!  The interview is one on one on an open stage with no band and no distractions.  David Letterman is back and better than before with a personal style he is enjoying.  Check out the beard!

Definitely no introduction is needed!

Dreamy reading inspiration.  Enjoy The New York Times recently released 52 Places to Go in 2018. Always amazed with the beauty that world has to offer.  Happy browsing!

The Crown Escape

Here is something perfect for you to do when you are trying to escape the frigid temperatures of New England! Or you just want to kick back and wait for 2018 to ring in!

Netflix is simply brilliant! The material they are delivering with their original content series could keep you in lock down for weeks.  Imagine having one weekend of a “staycation” with your refrigerator stocked, shades drawn and phone off except for access to your food delivery app.  Then you kick back in your sweats and go head to head with a mega Netflix marathon of binge watching.  That would be amazing!  Actually I have been there and know others too.  Seriously, to give you a whole season in one drop is a total gift!  Do you binge watch or do you spread them out?

Netflix just dropped The Crown, Season Two.  The Crown is a drama series taking you through the life of Queen Elizabeth II.  Queen Elizabeth takes the throne at age 25.  Her character takes you into her world of Westminster Abbey and Buckingham Palace.  The series draws you in immediately through the characters.  You find yourself immersed in the history of Great Britain and into the intricate world of the Royal family while trying to comprehend how a 25-year-old woman becomes Queen of England.

Family drama, weak men in her government, and infidelity surround the young Queen as she takes on the monarchy.  Her younger sister, Princess Margaret, is fascinating in every sense.  She is glamorous, charming, explosive, a bit scandalous and rebellious all in the search of love that would ultimately need The Queen’s approval.  Princess Margaret has my attention.  The Crown represents a time and place in history that I find myself wanting to click my heels and magically visit.  I love the fashion, the cars, the glamour, the lifestyle, and the societal norms.  So The Crown, Season Two has been released.  We are watching one epi at a time.  I want it to last!  Will there be a Season Three? I’m afraid to know and a year is dreadfully long to wait.

Fun fact: The most expensive tv series ever made! 130 million for Season One
